Does the All-New Hyundai Palisade Come with Advanced Driver Aids?

August 20th, 2019 by

Here at Old Saybrook Hyundai, while we love all the vehicles in our new model inventory, we’re particularly fond of the style, comfort, and accommodation offered by the all-new and exciting Hyundai Palisade. As the newest (and also the largest) vehicle in Hyundai’s lineup, this mid-size SUV offers comfortable seating for passengers of all-sizes, even in the very back; and its upscale exterior style gives it an assertive aesthetic one might expect to find on a vehicle costing twice as much. One thing we know New Haven families are sure to appreciate is the Palisade’s Hyundai SmartSense suite of advanced safety features and driver-aids. These technologies add an extra degree of protection to your daily drive and many are offered as standard equipment on all three trim levels. Here is a quick rundown of what’s available:

Lane Following Assist: (SE, SEL, Limited) Detects road markers and can provide subtle corrective steering to keep the vehicle centered in the lane.

Driver Attention Warning: (SE, SEL, Limited) Monitors for symptoms of inattentive driving and alerts the driver if it might be time to take a break.

High Beam Assist: (SE, SEL, Limited) Activates and deactivates high beams to account for light levels and leading and on-coming traffic.

Lane Keeping Assist: (SE, SEL, Limited) Alerts the driver to unintentional drifting

Rear Occupant Alert: (SE, SEL, Limited) Honks the horn and flashes the lights to alert of a possible pet or child left in the back seat.

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian Detection: (SE, SEL, Limited) Warns of an impending collision and, if necessary, can provide automatic emergency braking to lessen or possibly avoid an impact.

Blind-Spot Collision Avoidance Assist: (SEL, Limited) Provides audible and visual alerts if a vehicle is detected in your blind-spot.

Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist: (SEL, Limited) When in reverse, this system checks for vehicles on either side, so you know when it is safe to back up.

Safe Exit Assist: (SEL, Limited) Prevents passengers from opening a door if an approaching vehicle is detected.

Highway Drive Assist: (Limited – Available on SEL) Acting as your co-pilot on the highway, this system keeps the vehicle tracking straight and at a pre-programmed follow distance. It can even adjust speed automatically to match the speed limit, based on GPS and highway data.
